Course Overview

STCW requires all seafarers to receive familiarization and basic safety training or instruction in accordance with Section A-VI/1 of the STCW code. The minimum requirement for familiarization and basic safety training are contained within our basic safety training course and also meet the appropriate standard of competence. The courses are scheduled over one week, normally from Monday to Friday, or they can be booked individually at separate times.

The courses that make up the minimum STCW familiarization and basic safety training requirement are

Personal safety and social Responsibility
Fire prevention and Fire Fighting
Personal Survival Techniques
Elementary First Aid
Proficiency in Security Awareness

Target group for this courses

This courses is aimed at seagoing personnel in any capacity as part of the Mandatory STCW requirement.
